Disciplined: Science Combat
A four player party game where each player chooses a science discipline and battle it out to gather as much money from the university grant as possible.
Design
For this project my main role was art and effects but all team members assisted with the design. Some of the key design areas I was involved in was the choosing of abilities for each of the scientists and the pipe system. The concept of the pipe system was to deliver power ups around the arena.
Asset Creation
Using Blender and Substance I was able to create all of the environment assets and their animations for the game. The game was to be very stylised with limited details. Animating in a more cartoonish style was enjoyable allowing me to exaggerate with squash and stretch. I was also responsible for the creation of the intro sequence used in a trailer that was then edited by another team member.
Particle Effects
I was further responsible for the creation of all of the particle effects for the game. This was done using a combination of Unity's particle systems and Adobe Photoshop. The effects were varied and multi-layered, from flames to encapsulating vines.
