Shade Project
Pull the tabs in the magical pop-up book to manipulate the shadows allowing the character to navigate across the page
Concept
The group came up with the interesting idea of using shadows to interact with each other. It was an experimental project that progressed into the idea of a princess being trapped within a magical book.
Design
My main role in the team was lead designer and was responsible for the ideation and creation of the levels within the game. It was a great challenge due to the unique nature of the game and led to a lot of group discussion, testing and iteration.
Shaders
I was responsible for the creation of some specific shaders for the game. We wanted to convey the idea that the trapped character was made of ink. Therefore, at the end of each level we wanted it to look like the character absorbed through the page. To do this I used Unity's Shader Graph system to create accessible materials.
